J2534 Library and Test Application Software The SAE J2534 Library and Test Application Software for each of our vehicle interface products is available at the Software link at the end of each product description on the Products page.
MyCANIC-IOT Manual Provisioning Windows Application The link below contains the Prov-IOT application for provisioning the MyCANIC-IOT to a wireless network. Prov-IOT.exe NOTE: The Windows USB driver for the MyCANIC-FD and MyCANIC-IOT is built into Windows, so there is no need to add a driver. MyCANIC and McS1 USB Driver and Software InstallationInstalling the PC software for one of our vehicle interfaces involves two steps. First you must install the USB driver and then install the J2534 DLL software (note that some PCs may already have a suitable USB driver installed since we use a common USB interface from FTDI).First, download the latest VCP driver from the FTDI website for your version of Windows:https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/Run the setup program.USB Driver TroubleshootingIf you are having trouble with the USB driver on your PC when you connect our vehicle interface and it does not work properly, please perform the following steps:1.) Ensure you have admin rights on your computer before you start.2.) Download the latest USB VCP driver from the FTDI website (https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/) and save it on your PC in folder (not the Desktop)3.) Extract the USB VCP driver in the folder. When extracted correctly, you should see the following files and folders: <DIR> amd64 <DIR> i386 <DIR> Static 40,993 ftd2xx.h 18,816 ftdibus.cat 25,910 ftdibus.inf 17,936 ftdiport.cat 16,522 ftdiport.inf 4.) Disconnect all MyCANIC and McS1 devices from the PC.5.) Download and run the USB driver uninstaller from the FTDI website (http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities/CDM_Uninst_GUI_Readme.html ).6.) Run the USB driver uninstaller (CDMUninstallerGUI.exe).7.) Enter “0403” into the Vendor ID box and leave the Product ID box blank.8.) Press the “Add” button to add the device to the list window.9.) Press the “Remove Devices” button to remove all versions of the FTDI USB driver.10.) Open the Windows Device Manager.11.) Connect the MyCANIC/McS1 to the PC via USB and note the new “FT232R USB UART” device that shows up in the Device Manager list. NOTE: For some PCs (e.g. Dell Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme), there may already be an FT232R USB device in the list before you connect the MyCANIC/McS1 because it has in internal hardware COM port that uses the same FT232R chip as the MyCANIC/McS1. For example, you may see two entries for "FT232R USB" in the device manager list, and it could then be difficult to determine which one is being used by the MyCANIC/McS1. In these circumstances, unplug the MyCANIC tool, and if an "FT232R USB" item still appears, then highlight this entry using the mouse. Then plug the MyCANIC/McS1 tool back into the computer, and the new "FT232R USB" (not highlighted) is the one that's being used by the MyCANIC/McS1.12.) Right click the “FT232R USB UART” device that is associated with the MyCANIC/McS1 and select “Uninstall Device”.13.) Disconnect and re-connect the USB connection between the MyCANIC/McS1 and PC.14.) Right click the “FT232R USB UART” device that appeared when you re-connected the MyCANIC/MCS1 and select “Update Driver”.15.) Use the Browse button to select the folder of the USB VCP driver that you downloaded and extracted at the beginning.16.) After the driver is updated, you should see a virtual COM port appear under “Ports” in Device Manager when the MyCANIC/McS1 is connected to the PC via USB. Note: The MyCANIC/McS1 driver will often not be completely loaded after the first driver update action, and you will see the entry appear in some location other than the Ports section (usually Other devices). In these circumstances, right click this entry again, update the driver in the same manner, and thenyou should see the driver appear in the Ports section. The driver should now work correctly for all MyCANIC/McS1 tools.
